  • Relationships: (Direct and Indirect Relationships) are the most important thing to understand in the exam. You don’t have to know all the math just how the values relate to each other. We’ll show you.

  • Beam Dynamics: What characteristics are in the beam? How do those affect each other? Near zone, far zone, diameter, frequency and beamwidth. We cover them all.

  • Transducer Arrays: What types of arrays are used and how can you know the difference?

  • Transducers and Frequency: What effects are seen with a change of frequency? What is the relationship between the transducer and the frequency?

  • Period and Frequency: A lot of people get these two concepts confused because they are always spoken of together. In this module we will do our best to help you truly grasp each individual concept.

  • Wavelength: Understanding wavelength and how to use the wavelength equation. What is the relationship between wavelength and frequency? We’ll go over it all in this module.

  • Doppler: We will thoroughly explain and illustrate what the doppler effect is and how to calculate the doppler shift. This is a large portion of the current exam.

  • Ultrasound Artifacts: We cover the most common artifacts and what causes them. We will also go over how they help us in diagnosis of pathology.

  • Many more including: Hemodynamics, elastography, doppler settings and artifacts, scale, Clinical Safety, Patient Care, and Quality Assurance. We also have videos showing how to answer questions easily.

Let me tell you a little bit of why I created this course.

I was a practicing Sonographer working in a large hospital with many Ultrasound Students. I began to notice a few things about the way my students would prepare for their Ultrasound Registry.



All the students would study the same way. They would buy the top 2 or 3 Ultrasound physics books and index cards with questions and answers in them. Everyday they would lug them to the hospital and tell everyone "When there is downtime I'm going to study." But when there was time (which there never really is) they wouldn't study. Then they'd lug their books back home and tell themselves tonight is the night.

They would do this the whole year until the last couple of weeks when they would realize it really is crunch time. Then they would try to cram every chapter in while taking as many practice quizzes as they could find. All the while hoping that it would be enough come test day.

They would always come up to me and ask me to define terms or tell them what this formula meant and I noticed that if I told them a definition they would ask again and again.

I started drawing pictures for them instead. I noticed one thing, when I drew a picture they would remember it.The picture here is an actual post it note I drew for a student. It's very simple but easy to understand.

  • Do you have the exact same questions that are on the exam?

    This is a very sticky area. We do know many of the questions that are on the exam. While we could teach you the answer to the exact question we feel that it’s our moral and professional obligation to not teach you an answer but to teach you a principal. Objective here is to develop some of the best and most knowledgeable sonographers around. If we give you the answer it may help you pass a test but it will never help you again. If we teach you a principal you have that for the rest of your career. So yes we know a lot of the questions on the exam but we won’t specifically quote them. We will prepare you for them though.

  • Do you cover every area of the exam?

    Well we attempt to prepare you for everything there’s no way that we could teach you everything that is on the exam. One of the main reasons is that the exam changes from person to person. So one person may have a question on their exam and another person may not have that exact same question. We work to cover the most difficult portions. We talk to many students after they take their exam (whether they pass or fail) and we find out what they struggled with on the exam. We take that information and create material for the vast majority of it. There is some material that is very basic that at this time we won’t cover because we want to cover the more difficult sessions. In the future we will cover it but we want to create the best materials for the difficult portions first.

  • Do you guarantee that I will pass my exam?

    Because every individual is different and the exam is different for every individual there’s no way that we can guarantee that you will pass your exam. There are a lot of variables that go into passing the exam for example, how much have you studied, how prepared are you or even how good of a test taker you are. Well we can’t guarantee that you will pass the exam we can guarantee that we will do our best to help you pass your exam.
